Imperial Gift Part 1 – Distribution Update January 28, 2009
The Imperial Gift is Alderac Entertainment Group’s way of saying ‘thank you’ to the loyal fans who are journeying with us toward Legend of the Five Ring’s 15-year milestone. It is also a way to introduce those unfamiliar with the wonders of Rokugan to the epic scope of the world’s greatest interactive storyline CCG. Most important of all, the Imperial Gift is a completely free expansion of never-before-seen cards available to anyone who wants it.
The Gift is split into three parts, the first part of which is currently available. And when AEG promised to put the set in the hands of each player that wanted one, we really meant it. To date, any player has been able to acquire the Gift:
• at the Samurai Championship Global Storyline Event
• from their local Stronghold Store, whether level 0 or level 10
• with any purchase from the AEG online store
We are also including a number of Imperial Gifts in each Kotei package, and have asked Kotei organizers to insure the Imperial Gift is made available to anyone at their events who has yet to pick one up.
Finally, on February 1st, AEG will place the Imperial Gift in the AEG on-line store as an item players may order. It will be priced at $0, but a player ordering the Imperial Gift in this manner will have to cover any associated shipping and handling.
Imperial Gift 1 continues to be available free at every Stronghold Store, but if you have specific needs we have not filled with the above distribution solutions, please do not hesitate to contact the AEG Customer Service Team at customerservice@alderac.com

This November Legend of the Five Rings will host a global storyline tournament at Dojo Days stores around the world. This event is of incredible importance as it is your last chance to help determine the new Imperial Dynasty!
Not only will you have the chance to participate in a historical L5R event and affect the story-line of L5R for years to come, you’ll also be the first to receive The Imperial Gift, Part 1. This 150-card expansion set is AEG’s gift to fans of L5R. Divided into three releases to celebrate the beginning of the 15th Anniversary of Legend of the Five Rings, Imperial Gift, Part 1 will be completely legal for the duration of the Samurai Arc and the upcoming Celestial Arc. That’s right, fully legal for the 2009 Kotei season, and yours for free!

The Imperial Gift WILL be available after the global story-line tournament. Stores will be restocked with Imperial Gift I sets in the weeks following the global story-line tournament. Following the global story-line event the Imperial Gift I will be free with the purchase of any L5R starter deck. We hope to keep these available for as long into the Celestial Edition arc as we possibly can. AEG is massively overprinting the Imperial Gift and we anticipate you should have no trouble obtaining these cards to add to your new decks!
Note to Current Players: The Imperial Gift I is a complete play-set of all the cards within. Non-unique cards are in triplicate, and events and unique cards are one copy. It is everything you need to play. We ask that you please take no more than one per person, so that there will be plenty at your local store for new people who join us as we begin Celestial Edition. Imagine the look on a new player’s face when they hear they’re getting an entire set for free! Thank you and we’re looking forward to another amazing story arc!
