Jewel Events – MegaGame implications

Samurai of Rokugan,

the Divine Empress has commanded her Jeweled Champions to organize Championships and let the winner become a vassal of the Champion. Invitations are being sent by the Jeweled Champions to Clan daimyo, inviting them to send contestants.

The Artisan Academy will oversee the Tournaments as is the wish of the Empress, and hopes that samurai not on the battlelines will use these opportunities to improve their skill and stand ready for their call of battle.
The Academy will itself host the Turquoise Championship, celebrating the greatest artisan of Rokugan during the month of Doji.

The Child of Heavens guidance will lead us to victory!

The Jeweled Events are yearly events  that hold great importance in the L5R tournament calendar. in 2010, at least one of them will be run each month between July and December. The series of tournaments, and thus the MegaGame will end in January 2011 with the Topaz Championships.

Each Jewel Event will host a Main Tournament that will grant Glory points and an Honor Event that will grant Honor points in the 2010 MegaGame, the Empire’s Glory.

The Main Tournament will have Glory points for the top 8 distributed as follows:

  • the winner gains 8 Glory,
  • 2nd place gains 4 Glory,
  • 3rd and 4th gain  2 Glory each
  • 5th to 8th gain 1 Glory each

All top 8 players will be able to give their points to the Empire
(it is an Imperial Tournament) and the winner also gets the possibility to give to one specific Clan (details on which Clan gets paired with which Event in the next Imperial Herald, 3.5)

The Honor Event can be either a Theme Deck Contest, a Costume Contest, Charity Drive, or a Contest of the TO choice. TO can submit requests to run a different Honor Contest, and if that is accepted, players will know at least one month in advance. Honor Points distribution is as follows:

  • the winner gains 8 Honor
  • 2nd place gains 4 Honor
  • 3rd and 4th place gain 2 Honor each

All top 4 will be able to give their points to the Empire
(it is an Imperial Tournament) and the winner also gets the possibility to give to one specific Clan (details on which Clan gets paired with which Event in the next Imperial Herald, 3.5) Discuss this series of tournaments in our Events Forum
