The assassination of the Imperial Governor of the Colonies has sent shockwaves throughout both the Colonies and the Empire of Rokugan. The Imperial Court of the Divine Empress has spent weeks discussing the matter, with every facet of it being carefully scrutinized and criticized. Petition after petition has been placed before the Child of Heaven, encouraging her to select particular individual or at least favor one clan over the other.
Gravely concerned about the state of affairs in the Colonies and eager to put the matter aside in order to deal with the blossoming conflict with the Naga, the Empress has made her selection as to who will enforce her will and speak with her authority within the Colonies for the foreseeable future.
The winner of the Main Event Tournament at GenCon 2011 will work with the Story Team to create a new personality affiliated with the clan they played that will assume the position of Imperial Governor of the Colonies. Although the winner will not be given free reign, a great deal of input will be allowed in terms of selecting the new character’s personality, family of origin, profession, and many other details that will have a direct impact on the resulting card.
The Main Event is reserved to the players that qualified during the qualifying sessions held at GenCon on Aug 4th and Aug 5th and to the players that obtained seeds into the tournament thanks to their past achievements.
