Wednesday Grinder at Gamerz
AEG is sponsoring another early grinder for the Main Event of GenCon this year! We are working with the great staff of Gamerz game store in Indianapolis. Here is the information you’ll need:

• Where: Gamerz – 8735 US 31 S Indianapolis, IN 46227 (317)-865-1500
• When: 2:00PM Start Time
• What: Official GenCon Grinder – 40/40 Construct EE Format
• Entry Fee: $4
• Notes: This event will be a standard constructed event. Based on previous attendance, it is expected that the event will be 7 rounds of Swiss, and all players with a record of 5-2 or better will earn a seed into the main event at GenCon on Saturday.

L5R North American Championship Grinder #2
This is the second of two qualifier tournaments at GenCon. All players who end 7 rounds of Swiss with a record of 5-2 or better will automatically be qualified for the North American Championships on Saturday.

AEG Big Board Game Night!
Bigger and better than last year! We are giving the AEG Gaming Night its very own night this year. This event sold out last year on the strength of the swag alone, and this year the swag is bigger and better. (AEG’s swag is legendary.) Plus, we will have the entire AEG gaming area set up with events for all of AEG’s major games. And if you are not an AEG player yet, this is great time to join us as we will have space and events for new players—and old. Smash Up, Thunderstone, Ninja, Nightfall, L5R, and maybe even a few you haven’t seen yet! So come and join us!

L5R North American Championships – “Defenders of the Empire” - With relations between the Colonies and the Empire suffering due to manipulation and communication breakdowns, the situation in Rokugan and its expanded borders seems tenuous at best. It is during such a time, however, that outsiders look to the xenophobic samurai culture and see opportunity to gain inroads. During this most tumultuous time, an overture will come from across the Burning Sands, one that has the potential to change the landscape of Rokugan’s politics in an as yet unforeseen manner…

The winner of this tournament may select a faction from the Legend of the Burning Sands from the supplied list. This faction will approach the winner’s clan and attempt to form an alliance. The winner may choose whether his clan accepts the alliance or rejects it. If the alliance is accepted, the gaijin faction will grant their allies a gift in the form of a powerful artifact which will be of use to the clan, and which will be the subject of a powerful divination by the Oracle of the Void. If the winner chooses to reject the alliance, however, then hostility with the gaijin faction will surely follow, but the clan will gain great honor and prestige among the other clans for their purity and honor. Additionally, the winner of the tournament may select one personality from his faction (excluding Clan Champions) who will be the focal point of this storyline, being responsible for the initial contact with the LBS faction as well as with the Oracle of the Void.

North American Championships Top of Clan: “The Counsel of the Brotherhood” - With the troubling events taking place in the Colonies, the Brotherhood of Shinsei has risen to the occasion and offered its counsel to the Great Clans in an attempt to ward off the negative influence perceived to exist within there. A handful of the most renowned individuals within the Brotherhood’s ranks have traveled to the Colonies to offer themselves as advisors to the clans. The top-placing player of each clan in the tournament may select one personality from the following list. This personality will become a prominent figure within the clan and will appear later as a personality aligned with that clan.

L5R “Second Chance” Tournament – “A Return to Glory” - The samurai of Rokugan and of the Colonies all share a reverence and a respect for the heroes of previous generations. These individuals accomplished great things and, through their trials and survival, have accumulated great wisdom that many wish to take advantage of in such troubled times. Now is the time for one such samurai, one such hero, to return to the scene and offer his words of wisdom to a new generation.

The winner of this tournament may select one non-unique, non-experienced legal personality affiliated with his faction. This character will be responsible for finding an elder hero of the clan, a figure who was prominent in a previous arc and who has since retired to obscurity, and returning them to the public eye. This returning hero will counsel the new generation either for understanding between the Empire and the Colonies, or encourage the new generation to seek their own path (winner’s choice).

10,000th Card Celebration Party! 
Join the AEG staff for an evening featuring L5R and the celebration of its 10,000 cards. There will be something for everyone, for those who play the CCG, or the RPG, or those who are just fans of the L5R universe. Come to this event and receive the special 10,000th card swag bag featuring a copy of the 10,000th card and other AEG products. We will also have the Costume Contest at the 10,000th Card Celebration Party as well! Check below for the information!

L5R Draft Storyline Tournament – “A Samurai of Distinction”
Opportunity for distinction within the Second City abounds, and even more opportunities present themselves beyond the city’s borders, where a samurai can earn great honor and glory in the face of the dangers posed by the Colonies.

The winner of this tournament may select any one non-unique, non-experienced, legal personality affiliated with his faction. That personality will gain an Experienced version in an upcoming expansion of the L5R CCG.
