We continue our unveiling of the eligible Personalities for the GenCon Main Event Top of Clan choices with he following two members of the Brotherhood of Shinsei:
Yunmen the Whisper
Even with the shaven head of a monk and without any adornments, there can be no question that Yunmen the Whisper is a radiantly beautiful woman. Despite the social impropriety of it all, there are a great many men who have encountered her who have struggled with the notion of attempting to court her. None have ever taken that fateful step, of course, for to do so with a sister of the Brotherhood would be a terrible dishonor upon the house of anyone who did such a thing. Although the order’s leadership is well aware of the effect she has on others, and discourages such things, the Order of Benten often sends her to court to represent the order, if not the Brotherhood as a whole. Her subdued expressions and simple gestures seem only to magnify the interest others take in her wisdom, and her alias comes from her incredibly soft-spoken manner, a manner which nevertheless carries incredible weight in courtly circles. The Brotherhood hopes that her influence will assist with the denouncement of the Fudo cult in the Colonies.
Nishoji the Steel-Eyed
The Order of Persistence is one of the newer orders among the many and varied sects of the Brotherhood of Shinsei, but one that claims a large number of new adherents each passing year. Nishoji is a young brother, one who was left upon the doorstep of a monastery some two decades ago, but his life of toil among the Brotherhood has hardened him and honed him into an extremely adept and deadly instrument. During his youth he was a student of fellow brother Sengmai, but some years ago the two had a falling out, the subject of which neither will speak of to anyone else. Like his former mentor, Nishoji has never failed to achieve an objective set before him. Unlike Sengmai, however, he accomplishes that to which he sets his mind by perseverance and persistence, never ceasing until he finds a way to defeat all obstacles in his path. Also like Sengmai, he has set as his goal the end of the Fudo threat, and prepares to travel to the Colonies to accomplish this goal, just as he has every other that has ever fallen under his never-wavering gaze.
