As you know, the top of Clan players from the Main Event at Worlds 2012 will get the opportunity – if they so choose – to have one Personality from a list of 10 members of the Minor Clan Alliance to join their Clan in a later expansion. If they don’t, they will be able to name a Personality from their faction to appear in the Emperor Edition storyline, refusing the help of the Minor Clan Alliance in the process.
Every day of this week, leading up to the Saturday Main Event, we will briefly introduce 2 eligible personalities to you so that the players earning top of Clan honors have more than a name to make the decision on who they would like to join the Clan they were representing at the tournament.
Here are the first two:
Ichiro Otani, the Stone Breaker
Never has the Crab ancestry of the Badger Clan been more evident than in the person of Ichiro Otani, called by some the Stone Breaker. A man more massive than many Crab warriors, Otani prefers the company of the mountains to that of other samurai. He is well known both for his patrols of the northernmost mountains of Rokugan’s borders, constantly searching for any sign of potential dangers such as the Empire faced in the War of Dark Fire many years ago, and for his undefeated record in the popular sumai contests of the Badger Clan. Though no threat has ever presented itself, Otani’s vigilance has never wavered. He has been summoned away to serve the Minor Clan Alliance on several occasions, but he always returns. In the solitude of the mountains, he practices his unarmed kata on the stones themselves.
Komori Miyano, the Shadow Wing
Slight of build but unshakeable of spirit, Komori Miyano is perhaps the most powerful shugenja that the young Bat Clan has ever produced. His affinity with the spirits is prodigious, exceeded only by his apparent natural affinity with certain creatures of the mortal realm. More specifically, bats, the totem animal of his clan, seem to consider him one of their own. Even during daylight, it is not uncommon to find one or more of them clinging to the folds of his robes, sleeping peacefully in his presence. At night, however, he can summon vast hordes of them, seemingly without number, to overwhelm his enemies or ferry his messages across the face of the Empire, the Colonies, and even beyond. Many say that Miyano is more at home with the creatures of the night than with humans, but if true, it has not affected his service to the Bat Clan or their patrons among the Mantis.
Join us tomorrow for the unveiling of two additional personalities!
