Tochiko, the Jagged Tusk
It is alleged by some that the ronin samurai-ko known as Tochiko is the last surviving vestige of the Boar Clan. Whether or not that is true, no one can say for certain, and those who inquire after it with Tochiko often deeply regret the decision to do so. Her personal tendency toward violence aside, however, Tochiko is clearly a favored vassal of those who lead the Minor Clan Alliance, and her weapon of choice, the mai chong, is a strong indicator of some tie to the long-extinct Boar Clan. This is to say nothing of the clan’s mon, which she bears on her neck in the form of a tattoo. Some believe it is the mark of the Togashi, and that it renders Tochiko unkillable, but most agree that she is simply too stubborn to die.
Tonbo Inuyama, the Eye of Tomorrow
There are few outside of the Ishiken of the Phoenix Clan who can pull aside the veil of the Void and perceive that which might become truth in the times yet to come. Among those precious few are the diviners of the Dragonfly Clan, one of the most successful of which is Tonbo Inuyama. Through simple water magic, Inuyama has managed to perceive some of the simplest but most essential truths about the future in a more consistent manner than even many greater Void shugenja. Inuyama’s visions do not gaze particularly far into the future, nor do they necessary perceive matters of Empire-wide importance, but the frequency of his visions is far greater than most and his accuracy is significantly better than most. After years of selfless service to the Dragonfly and the Dragon, Inuyama has placed his talents at the disposal of the Minor Clan Alliance and, through them, perhaps at the disposal of a Great Clan as well.
