The war for Kaeru Toshi proceeds according to plan. We have
experienced some delays in our projected schedule, mostly due to the
Dragon’s sudden interference, but I am confident that we can continue to
make gains into the Lion’s territory. The rumors in court that the Crane
may move against the Lion’s weakened eastern border have made them
cautious and weak. They will break, and soon.
My scouts have reported signs of Scorpion activity to the south.
There has been no report of any large-scale troop movement, and I find
it difficult to imagine they could maneuver any significant force
without our notice, but nevertheless I find the reports troubling. I do
not trust the Scorpion, my Khan. They will take what they want from our
alliance and leave us with nothing. They believe we are mindless
barbarians. With your leave, I will teach them to fear the word
