The Crane Clan
is in a strong position, having many allies and few enemies. One of their number has demonstrated mastery of
Enlightenment and word of the achievement has begun to spread. While many in the Empire have gained newfound
respect for Asahina Sekawa, many enemies of the Crane see little but a dark portent of future strife.
Tensions between the Crane and Lion, who have been allied since Naseru’s coronation, are very high. Doji
Akiko, wife of the Crane Champion, member of the Gozoku conspiracy, has refused to become a follower of the
Shogun as many other former Gozoku pawns have, confident that she can protect herself from any suspicion of
wrongdoing. She is unaware that the Scorpion Clan has learned her secret and plan to harm the Crane by
exposing her shame in the most damaging manner possible – by delivering the information to the Crane’s enemies
in the Lion Clan, with the objective of shattering the alliance between Lion & Crane.
