The Unicorn
are currently feared and respected throughout the Empire. They have proven that they can challenge even the
armies of the Lion – and win. They have shown the Empire that not even the Bloodspeakers can hide from their
scrutiny. The Khan knows that he must maintain this momentum if his Clan is to fulfill its destiny, so he
intends to strike again at the Lion while they are weak. He has allowed the emissaries of the Dragon Clan to
make peace with his Clan, so that the Unicorn will be permitted to traverse the lands of the Dragon and defeat
the Lion a second time when Otemi inevitably seeks to win back the honor of the Lion. The Khan is uncertain
how he views this supposed new Enlightenment the Crane have found. While he personally has little value for
such things, he realizes that many Unicorn are explorers at heart, and may be seduced by the promise of
something new. He watches the Crane carefully for now, waiting to see if this Enlightenment is something he
can use to his own benefit.
