Storyline Events - The Fallen City

Art by Drew Baker |
Years ago, the Imperial City of Otosan Uchi fell under attack by the Dark Lord, Daigotsu. Using unspeakable magics, he
opened a gateway to the realm of Meido and ushered in the return of the maniacal god, Fu Leng. During the battle that
followed, the Emperor’s servants declared the city cursed. The ruins were burned, abandoned by all but the stubborn
and the desperate.
Now the Keeper of the Five Rings steps forward with a new challenge. He boasts that he has found a new form of
enlightenment, and many throughout the Empire have demanded that he prove it. He intends to begin doing so in the
fallen city, by redeeming the shadowed streets of Otosan Uchi and casting away the curse that blackens the former
Imperial City.
But Sekawa cannot perform this act alone. Heroes from throughout the Empire will be inspired by his example, and step
forward to help him in this campaign. The winner of each of the following four tournaments will each gain a stronghold
in one of the Hub Villages of Otosan Uchi and will influence the redemption of the city as follows:
(Northern Spain) North Hub Village ¬ Once a powerful merchant center of the Empire, close to the home territory of the
Tortoise Clan. The Clan that redeems this village will gain great wealth.
(Central France) East Hub Village ¬ Once home for ronin and other assorted mercenaries looking for work on the field of
battle. The Clan that redeems this village will gain support from powerful ronin allies.
(St. Louis, MO) West Hub Village ¬ Once home to the Imperial storehouses and tax collectors. The Clan that redeems this
village will demand great favor from the Emperor himself, and gain influence over the courts.
(New York City, NY) South Hub Village ¬ Once a center of art and culture. The Clan that redeems this village will tell
the tale of this great adventure in the fallen city, and of course the one who tells the tale often gains the greatest
prestige when it is told…
