Celestial Edition 15

Celestial Edition 15 will be in stores this week! This re-release of Celestial Edition features not only a full reprint, but also many extras. Included in each booster is an additional rare from select CE-legal expansions, and a Flashback card, featuring a famous card from the 15 Years of L5R. Starters feature a new fixed card, a Celestial Mempo for each Clan, as well as bonus rares, a Flashback card, and a new rulebook! All of CE 15 cards have been MRP’d to the current legal wordings (except for the Flashback cards which retain all their glorious original wordings, as confusing as they may have been!).

For those of you who want a sneak-peek at opening CE 15, L5Rchives has post a weblog of opening the first pack and starter, filmed at the AEG offices last week.

CE 15 Flashbacks

Soon Celestial Edition 15 will be released and many players may be wondering what these old cards are all about. To celebrate L5R’s 15 years of success, we have included a 12th card into each booster pack of CE 15, free of charge. This card is a Flashback card and is one of 110 different Flashback cards in this set. Flashbacks look back at L5R’s history and shows some of the most important parts of it, both in the card game and in the story.

None of the Flashbacks are Celestial Edition legal, you will notice their lack of a Celestial bug…

…. with one exception. Read the full post >>

The Jeweled Champions

In the Empire of Rokugan, there are two groups of samurai who are exalted above all others. The first is the collection of individuals known as the Emperor’s Chosen, men and women chosen directly by the Emperor or Empress to serve the throne directly, including the Imperial Advisor, the Imperial Chancellor, the Shogun, the Voice of the Emperor, and the Imperial Treasurer. The other such group is the Jeweled Champions, a group of samurai who ascend to the highest levels of society through achievement, typically by succeeding at a great tournament held among the most gifted individuals in the whole of Rokugan. These individuals include the Emerald Champion, the Jade Champion, the Amethyst Champion, the Ruby Champion, and the Topaz Champion. The Jeweled Champions, while generally less influential than the Emperor’s Chosen, are somewhat more glamorous to the average samurai, for the potential to achieve such a position is something that any individual can dream of for himself.
