The Greatest Honor
In a time of war against invaders that are poorly understood at best, the Empire can afford few chances to allow the confusion that has followed in the wake of past deaths of Emperors. With invaders pushing farther into the Empire, one clan will be selected to augment the standing defenses of the Imperial City to ensure that the Empress and her Chosen cannot be threatened by advance forces from the invading armies.
The winning player of this tournament may select any one elite unit from the clan used to win the tournament. That unit is immediately transferred in its entirety to the Imperial City at the command of the Emerald Champion, in order to ensure the safety of the Empress. For example, if a Lion player won the tournament, he could select the Akodo Elite Guard, the Ikoma Guardians, the Matsu House Guard, the Deathseekers, etc.
