Celestial Edition is the new base set for the Legend of the Five Rings Collectible Card Game. L5R is the world’s premier interactive, story-based CCG, and Celestial Edition continues and improves upon L5R’s tradition of excellence as it approaches its 15th Anniversary.
Celestial Edition launches officially on June 22nd 2009, and becomes tournament legal on July 13th 2009.
On the same day, Imperial Gift 2 will become available, for free, to all players who wish to obtain it. Imperial Gift 2 comes in the format of two, ready-to-play decks designed to make them an excellent way for new players to learn the game. Additionally, Celestial Edition comes with an exclusive Release Tournament for all stores that wish to participate. Even though Celestial Edition launches on the 22nd of June, the results for the Release Tournament will not be required until July 13th, to give any new players a chance to play in their first global L5R tournament.
In August, the first major storyline of the Celestial Edition arc will take place at GenCon, with the Burden of Duty Tournament. Then, in October, the Celestial Edition Mega Game gets underway, the results of which will change the face of Rokugan forever.
