Starting with The Harbinger, we have decided to test a new system to deal with promo legalities. You will notice that on all promos one of the following will appear:
1) A Date
2) TBA
3) Upon Release
If a date appears, then the promo will become legal on that date. If TBA appears, then the date is To Be Announced, and will be listed in the promo legality page, which can be found here. Upon release will be printed on any alternate art promo card, and will be legal for tournament use as soon as you receive it.
As this means a rather large change in how we process our promos, we are testing this out with a portion of the promos printed in The Harbinger. If this endeavor is a success, we will put more dates on promos in the future. Our ultimate goal is to have most promos printed with their legality date appearing on the card.
This is another step in our efforts to streamline the tournament system for all L5R players.
