To our United States players we want to wish a Happy Thanksgiving, and to all our players around the world we want to take today to once again say Thank You for playing our games and supporting your Clans for all these years. Legend of the Five Rings would not be approaching its 15th Anniversary were it not for your dedicated support. We appreciate it deeply, and look forward to another year of exciting tournaments, stories, and more.
It has been a bit quiet lately, but that’s mainly because we’ve been so busy…
Yes, the Mega-Game is coming. We have had a crazy few months, and the news about it hasn’t come as quickly as we’d hope. Without making excuses, the reality was that our other game launches, the trip to Essen and such have impacted L5R. Its not just one way however, some of our other game releases have been impacted by L5R as well. It’s still a delicate balancing act that we’re learning, so please bear with us just a little longer. It has been beneficial for AEG however, as our new board games are doing very well and that will only strengthen our ability to deliver fun new products and expand the L5R experience. That said, the Mega-Game will be underway soon (save any disastrous events) and we think you’ll definitely enjoy the new twist. Just as the Race for the Throne was clearly about the Empire competing with itself for the ultimate position of power, the new game will be all about the Empire fighting for its right to survive against an overwhelming enemy.
As I’m sure you’re aware, the 15th Anniversary is next year, and we’ve been hard at work on plans for Gen Con and the European Championships, and we believe both will be celebrations worthy of 15 years of the Emerald Empire. The next edition of the L5R RPG will also celebrate everything that has made it a compelling product all this time.
I (Todd) write this after we emerge from 3 dedicated weeks of nothing but L5R planning (and yes the teams working on some non-L5R board games are beating down my door for responses, I haven’t forgotten you!). We simply felt that 2010 was so important that we had to laser-focus on L5R planning, and we hope that you’ll enjoy the result. Call up your old friends who haven’t played in a while, tell them now more than ever they need to pick up their Clan banner, its going to be a blast for both the players and us.
Anyway, all that again to say, thank you for all these years.
