Legend of the Five Rings has one of the richest storylines in all of fantasy gaming. The story has been created and driven by the actions of the players. The stories of Legend of the Five Rings are your stories, told by your CCG tournaments, LARP events, and online RPGs. The L5R Story Team keeps their finger on the pulse of the community, watching for Clan or player movements and other things that can influence the outcome of their Clan in the story. When you build your deck and play the game, you represent your Clan in all aspects. Do so with honor, as a win without honor can do as much harm as good!!

Your efforts are reflected not only in the fictions we regularly post to the official L5R site and forum, but on actual cards. Many cards you will see in Legend of the Five Rings feature special credits along the side, telling you the event where they were the result as well as the name of the player who had a hand in their creation! Many cards in every expansion feature these storyline results. It is a great honor to fight for your Clan, and a great glory to have your name permanently associated with one of your Clan’s cards!

As an example of how the players create the story, read Bride of Secrets. It is the story of the rescue of the Scorpion Champion’s new bride by the Dragon Clan. The Dragon Clan were her rescuers due to Ming Dao Zhang’s victory for the Dragon at the 2006 Origins Challenge Booth.
